Teaching Tip:
Let it Marinate: End of Lesson Reflection
The end of a class period may often feel like a time to slow down and regroup. An alternate view is that these last moments, which usually occur when ideas have had a chance to marinate, can be a time when quiet thinkers finally articulate their ideas.

In these moments, students can deepen their own learning, and entire groups can share ideas and make meaning of content. Depending on the circumstances, closings and reflective activities can be quickly jotted down and shared out loud.
 
The following is a list of different reflection and closing prompts:

• Share one thing you learned.
• Share a question for future investigation.
• Respond with a word.
• What worked? What didn’t work?
• What is one part of your work that you are proud of?
• How would you do this differently next time?

Refresher Aqaid Course with Sheikh Shomali
S.I.Madressa has arranged a Refresher Aqaid course to be facilitated by Sheikh Shomali.  This course is a follow up after the Intensive course on Islamic Belief System that took place in September last year. It is open particularly to all those participants - however if other individuals would like to attend we strongly encourage you to listen and familiarise with the 18 lectures delivered on this very topic by Sheikh Shomali on http://www.ic-el.com/en/mul_t.asp?kkind=13 before attending the Refresher Aqaid Course to maximise the benefit.
 
Dates:  Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 May 2014
Timings: 9.30 am - 1 pm ending with Salat
Venue: Hujjat Islamic Centre, Stanmore, HA7 4LQ
Cost: £20 for S.I.Madressa volunteers, £25 for all others.
