HED Willowbrook Farm 19 April 2026

Dear Parents/Guardians of Students in HED,
Salaamun Alaykum

Alhamdulillah, we are very excited to be able to offer the HED students an opportunity to go visit Willowbrook Farm, the first and only Organic Muslim Farm in the UK on Sunday 19 April 2026.

The topics that the visit will address are:
1. Rearing animals according to Islamic principles
2. Organic farming and decreasing the distances food miles
3. Sharia pitfalls in commercial farming methods
4. Conservation of the resources Allah has blessed us with and avoidance of asraaf, as well as modern developments in the concept of hima
5. Alternative methods of generating energy, avoidance of pollution and living in balance with nature in a Cob House
6. Hikma from ahadith on the food we consume from meat/veg balance to fruits in season

*Please note uniform is not required, however every student must observe correct hijab (long loose fitting appropriate clothing)
*It is a farm and therefore wearing clothes that can get dirty is advised.
*It would be prudent to bring a pair of wellies to change into at the farm
*Everyone will need to bring a packed lunch
*A cafe is available onsite should students wish to purchase any snacks during their break

Please note that the charge for the day is £25 – the trip is subsidised and this money will go towards admissions to the farm and the bus fare. There are subsidies available for anyone where required – please email admin@madressa.net or speak to a member of staff in confidence and we will make the necessary provisions.

We do hope that the students will take this amazing opportunity – this is an annual trip that is both inspiring and eye-opening!
